Veterans & First Responders · Ohio

You served. Now let us serve you.

Military service changes how you see the world. Sometimes it changes how you sleep, how you connect with people, how you handle noise or crowds. That's not weakness — that's a physiological response to what you experienced. And it's treatable.

What you might be living with

PTSD and combat-related mental health conditions are medical conditions, not signs of weakness. Many veterans live with these symptoms for years before seeking help.

  • Flashbacks or intrusive memories
  • Nightmares and disrupted sleep
  • Hypervigilance — always scanning for threats
  • Avoiding reminders of traumatic events
  • Emotional numbness or feeling detached
  • Irritability and anger that feels out of proportion
  • Difficulty trusting people or feeling safe
  • Survivor's guilt
  • Depression and hopelessness
  • Substance use to cope

Trauma-informed care, on your terms

Step 01

Trauma-informed psychiatric evaluation

We understand military culture. You won't need to explain acronyms or justify your experiences. We start where you are.

Step 02

Evidence-based treatment for PTSD

Medications with strong evidence for PTSD, coordinated with therapy when needed. We work with your existing VA care when possible.

Step 03

Flexible, confidential appointments

100% telehealth — no waiting rooms, no travel, complete privacy. Appointments that work around your schedule.

We coordinate with VA care when requested. Elite Mind Wellness is a private practice — not affiliated with the VA.

PTSD Symptom Screening (PCL-5)

A brief, validated screening tool. Not a diagnosis — results help determine if a clinical evaluation would be helpful.

PTSD Symptom Screening (PCL-5)

The PCL-5 is a validated PTSD screening instrument. This abbreviated version helps identify whether a full clinical assessment may be helpful. Rate how much you have been bothered by each symptom in the past month. Not a diagnosis.

Takes 1–2 minutes • Not a diagnosis

Common questions

Do you have experience treating combat veterans?

Yes. Our providers bring trauma-informed care principles to every appointment. We understand that military mental health requires sensitivity to culture, hierarchy, and the unique nature of combat-related trauma.

Can you prescribe medication for PTSD?

Yes. Medications including SSRIs and prazosin have strong evidence for PTSD. We discuss all options and prescribe based on your specific presentation and history.

Do you work with the VA?

We coordinate with VA providers when requested. We are a private practice and not affiliated with or funded by the VA, which means no wait times and complete scheduling flexibility.

Is my treatment confidential?

Yes. All telehealth sessions are fully confidential and HIPAA-compliant. In general, your records cannot be shared without your explicit consent — including with the military or VA.

Do I need to have a combat-related diagnosis to see you?

No. We treat all veterans and first responders, regardless of their service history or diagnosis. You don't need a specific PTSD diagnosis to seek help.
